This special exhibition features photographed objects contributed by community members in remembrance of women institutionalized at the Buffalo State Asylum between 1880 and 1974.
Presented in conjunction with Eighty-Six Reasons for Asylum Admission by Kimberly Chapman, the installation creates a powerful dialogue between personal memory, institutional history, and contemporary art.
